Sony will be putting a halt to the online servers for the entire Resistance series. That includes Resistance 3, which had just over two years of life with online play.
The servers were originally going to be put to rest earlier, but VG247 reports that Sony extended them for a little over a week for fans to get their final fix.
Previously set to go offline March 28, a stay of execution for the trilogy seems to have been implemented to give people more time with the shooter.Don't expect it stay any longer. Those that still want to play Resistance online this weekend better not hesitate any longer.
As for me, I've still got Resistance 3 in its shrinkwrap, buying it nearly a year ago for just $10. One day I'll finally dive in to the single player, but there's nothing that turns me off more than first-person shooting multiplayer, so I won't be affected by Sony's cutoff date.
However, I'm sure fans that still play from time to time are disappointed that a game that's just a few years old gets its online multiplayer axed.
