From IGN.com:
Ragnarok Odyssey ACE, developed by Japanese studio Game Arts (of Grandia and Lunar fame), is essentially a slightly modified version of the original Ragnarok Odyssey, a game that came exclusively to PlayStation Vita in 2013[.]
The Monster Hunter clone was overshadowed by Soul Sacrifice in 2013, but it had benefits as an Action RPG. Numerous reviewers believed it was a great showcase for the Vita; Destructoid believed it set the "example of how to make a Vita experience work" with touchscreen support, high-end graphics, and the easy pick-up-and-play structure.
However, the game received mediocre reviews on Metacritic, earning it an average score of 66 out of 100.
Joystiq reveals all the details in the upgraded version:
Ace layers new bosses, equipment, and features on top of the previous game's existing content. Ace boasts a new AI mercenary mechanic, allowing players to tackle the game's challenges with assistance from computer-controlled companions. Ace is also compatible with all DLC released for Ragnarok Odyssey, and many existing character attributes and unlockables can be directly transferred over to the new game.
The addition of AI companions is a welcome addition. On top of the new features, the physical Vita edition will feature a soundtrack CD. For those that don't care about the game's music, the digital edition is $5 less.
Ragnarok Odyssey ACE is developed by Game Arts and published by Xseed Games in North America.
