First, let's back up to the prisoner and what he did to land in prison. The man is Anders Behring Breivik, 35 years old, and he drew up a terrorist manifesto in Norway. In July 2011, he blew up a government building and then went on a shooting spree, killing a total of 77 people.
Believe it or not, Breivik was only sentenced to containment 13 months later. According to Dangerous Minds, the sentence "can be extended if the authorities deem it necessay, with a 'time frame' of 21 years in prison -- the maximum sentence."
That's not all. Apparently, prisoners have a lot more options to pass the time instead of lifting weights or applying for a work release. One of those options are the ability to play PlayStation games, but for Breivik, just getting that option isn't enough.
From the Agence France-Presse (AFP):
He also demanded the replacement of a PlayStation 2 games console for a more recent PS3 "with access to more adult games that I get to choose myself" as well as a sofa or armchair instead of a "painful" chair. That's right. Instead of worrying about getting locked up in prison with other crazy nutjobs, he's worried about being forced to play a kid's game like Rayman and would like the newest edition of Call of Duty with a newer console.
"Other inmates have access to adult games while I only have the right to play less interesting kids games. One example is "Rayman Revolution", a game aimed at three year olds," wrote the 35-year-old convicted killer.
At least he's being considerate and not going straight for the PS4.
