The true successor to Demon's Souls could be on its way to the PlayStation 4.
An online Swedish retailer, CDON.com, posted a listing for Demon's Souls 2 on Sony's next-generation console. The listing has the game set for a December 31st, 2013 release and at the price of 649 kr (Swedish Krona).
The date looks like a placeholder for now, meaning it would likely come in 2014. 649 kr is a bit high for a standard new game, which translates to about $97.21 here. Games are higher priced compared to American amount, but in comparison, The Last of Us is currently 579 kr.
After translation, the description of the product reads: "Price, picture, product description and releasedate are preliminary and may subject to change."
No mention of the developer or publisher is on the listing. From Software was the developer and SCE published the game. Sony still has the rights to Demon's Souls, meaning that if there were a second one, it would be an exclusive. Dark Souls was only a spiritual successor to Demon's Souls.
How accurate is CDON? They had Gran Turismo 6 listed before it was actually announced, but they also had Dead Rising 3 as a PlayStation 4 release and it's currently an Xbox One exclusive. That listing has since been removed from the retailer.
