HM received critical praise, scoring an 85.2 percent average at GameRankings on PC. It's a hot seller on Steam and it was recently part of the Humble Bundle sale. That success continued onto the Vita, where it was released on June 25th and took home the system's best seller.
There's no question that the top-down action game, like a Retro City Rampage, is almost perfect for the Vita system. It doesn't show how powerful the handheld is, but those games in comparison are just not selling like the indie games are.
It's extremely disappointing to see the system's software not perform well. There are a wide variety of games, except Sony has done two things very wrong in the process: they showed no support of unique, triple-A titles coming and the memory card situation is a complete disaster.
At least they keep giving PlayStation Plus users free games, and I believe all PlayStation 3 owners should give the handheld a shot if they can find a good deal with the unit and a memory card for under $200.
Hopefully the indie market can bring in a bigger install base, and force third-party publishers to make better games than horrible, unoriginal garbage like Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified.
