PlayStation Vita Receives New Social, Drawing Apps on Tuesday

PS VITA (PlayStation Vita)

Sony announced that two new apps will be released for the PlayStation Vita on Tuesday when the PlayStation Network is being updated. Now what depends is if there's the people around to actually use these apps or how much interest there is in drawing with the handheld system.

The apps will be the "Vita's first social gaming application" called Toro's Friend Network and an upgrade to the painting app, Paint Park Plus. For those that aren't really into the apps on Vita to begin with, don't be too excited -- there's nothing here that will draw people into it.

TFN is a game that users will build up a town and connect with their friends, and they can upgrade their town by going to a "Friend Dungeon" and also could meet new friends on there. From the description, supposedly there will be hundreds of items to purchase and customize with.

PPP is basically the original Paint Park with a wider variety of colors and utensils to draw with. Another addition is the ability to share paintings on Twitter, so it's easy to bother friends with poorly-painted drawings of random characters they don't understand.

For those that have an interesting in playing social media games like they do on Facebook or create drawings with the handheld device, these are welcome additions. Apps are generally free and considering how both descriptions are led to believe that more additions can be purchased, both of these apps are expected to be no different.
