The never-ending nightmare for EA's first-person shooter franchise continues on the PlayStation 4 even after a patch was released on Wednesday.
Serious bugs such as multiplayer crashing and first-player save corruption issues have run rampant on the PS4 edition of Battlefield 4, and players are sill struggling even after EA released a patch to solve these problems before the holiday weekend.
From the Battlelog forums:
We have now rolled out a game update for PS4. With this update, we’ve included a number of fixes that should further decrease the amount of crashes and increase the overall stability of the game. We will continue to increase stability going forward, stay tuned. There's a lot of updates listed in the message board post, but apparently there's still quite a lot of work to do in order to reach stability. For some, it sounds like this edition of BF4 is downright unplayable.
A lot of blame can be put on EA for this issue. Plenty of companies have had to deal with creating five editions of a certain game to cater to their entire audience. No other PS4 game has endured this much struggle out of the gate.
There's no excuse to have a game released, let alone after being patched, to continue having save problems and game crashing issues. If it wasn't completely clear from all the FIFA re-releases that EA puts under a different name, their motive is always to get the consumer dollar ahead of their satisfaction.
