PlanetSide 2 creative director, Matt Higby, gives us the indication that PS4 will be able to handle everything this game can process at maximum capacity.
"Our plan right now is to basically take the PC game with maximum settings and have that be running on the PS4," confirmed Matt Higby, creative director on the game, to NowGamer.
"So there won’t be any limitations in terms of number of players, there won’t be any limitations on the maps – so you aren’t going to get any dumbed down maps or anything like that."
That's pretty remarkable, even if this is a general trend of when next-generation consoles are released. Gamers currently spend thousands of dollars on high-performance gaming PCs, and the PS4 at just a $399 price tag will be able to showcase the latest games in the same way.
Of course, that won't last. When compared, it's easy to see the difference between PlayStation 3, which was a powerhouse six years ago, and some of today's games on the console compared to their PC counterpart. That will probably happen six more years down the road as Sony prepares for a PlayStation 5 release.
But for now, anyone that wondered about the PS4's specifications won't need to any longer -- the system is an absolute beast.
