***Borderlands 2 on Vita released as standalone next week.

The big release this week is a semi-relaunch of the Vita with a thinner, cheaper edition of the handheld with Borderlands 2. Now the popular title from 2K Games is available for those that want to replay it and loot on the go. There are some limitations in this version, including two-player co-op, and there are some reviewers reportedly turned off by this version in their first impressions.

Elsewhere, PlayStation 4 gets its monthly free game with Stick it to the Man, a game that's already available on other consoles. Other highlights include MLB 14 The Show finally on PS4 along with Titan Attacks! released on all three platforms.

Strangely enough, no classics, imports, or demos are new this week.

PS+ Discounts

Activision is holding a sale on some of their games and downloadable content. The quality of both the discounts and the games on the list are left to be desired, but maybe those interested in messing with one of the Cabela hunting games can finally get their fix.

  • Cabela's Big Game Hunter: Pro Hunts - $17.99

The other game is Pro Evolution Soccer 2014, just in time for those that are gearing up for Championship Sunday in the Premier League and the upcoming World Cup.

Enjoy your week, everyone!

The highlight this week will be a toss-up, whether you're into sports games or not. If so, Sony exclusive MLB 14 The Show makes its debut on PS3 and Vita. May 6th is the current release date for the latest baseball entry to ship out to the PS4.

For those that are waiting for the game to come out next month, or can't stand baseball, the arcade platformer, Mercenary Kings, is free with a PS+ subscription to tie people over.

PSN Discounts

This week's newest discounts are mostly focused on The Amazing Spiderman, in preparation of the next installment, The Amazing Spiderman II, that's coming out later this month.

  • The Amazing Spiderman (PS3) - $17.99
  • The Amazing Spiderman (Vita) - $19.99
  • ASM DLC Bundle - $4.49
All of the following ASM DLC is available for $1.79 each.
  • Lizard Ramapage Pack
  • Oscorp Search and Destroy
  • Rhino Challenge
  • Stan Lee Adventure Pack

Finally, a game that's not apart of ASM, Obscure: The Aftermath, is available for 50 percent off at $5.

Instant Game Collection

There are two new games added into the IGC for PS+ subscribers. First, those that either have a PS4 or don't must claim their title of Mercenary Kings. The arcade shooter that resembles a throwback to the Metal Slug series is an absolute must-own for fans of the genre or those that are looking to kill some quick time without getting deep into a AAA title.

Not tired of super heroes yet? Batman: Arkham City is free on PS3. The classic by Rocksteady that's received rave reviews is now available. An interesting time unlocking this game considering a deluxe edition of the newer Arkham Origins was dropped today. Anybody that has a PS+ subscription and needs to get their Batman fix should just skip right past Origins and pick up the much better City for free.
