Want a side-by-side comparison of all three versions of Final Fantasy X and X-2 for the Playstation 2, 3, and Vita? Find out if the newly released upgrade is worth your cash.
Digital Foundry released over six minutes of footage on all three platforms. First up, here's the video. As clearly indicated, the PS2 edition is on the left, PS3 is on the center, and Vita is on the right.
When it comes to differences between the original FFX and the Remaster edition from the naked eye, there's not many. In fact, the PS2 version looks better at times in both clarity and color.
However, it's pretty easy to see that the PS3 version is clearly better when it comes to polygon count and less jaggies on the character models. The redesigned face models also fill out the characters, making them look infinitely better on an HD picture.
What's really disappointing is seeing how washed out the Vita edition is. Perhaps it looks better on the handheld's gorgeous screen, but sometimes that version looks the worst out of all three editions when comparing overall color contrast.
For those that want an HD upgrade, it looks like the PS3 is the best way to go. Which is unfortunate because role-playing games scream for handheld devices, and a game like FFX deserved a little more attention on the Vita.
