There's a lot on tap, especially for fans of PSone imports. Not being one of them personally, we'll jump right into the highlight of the week which is Wolfenstein from MachineGames and Bethesda Studios. This game has received quite a bit of advertising and it's coming in with above-average reviews.
Being able to wield two weapons at the same time, Wolfenstein promises to deliver a retro-like first person shooter (even with some nostalgic original Wolfenstein moments) in a new-generation atmosphere.
Elsewhere, PS4's new action RPG, Transistor, has received a lot of attention from critics and has potential to be a sleeper hit. And what's turning into weekly release of new RPGs, there's two options -- Drakengard 3 and Mugen Souls Z -- for PS3 owners.
There are no actual PS+ discounts this week (new releases or otherwise) but there are still some sales still going on. Here's the latest as well as price drops since, quite frankly, there's nothing else to put in this category.
- God Mode (PS3) - $4.99
- Muramasa Rebirth Genroku Legends - A Cause to Daikon For, Fishy Tales of the Nekomata (PS3/Vita) - $2.49
- Game of Thrones (PS3) - $4.99
- Trine 2 (PS3) - $4.99
- Urban Trial Freestyle PS3/Vita Bundle - $13.99, (PS3) - $9.99, (Vita) - $6.99
Instant Game Collection
The PS+ service makes up for the lack of discounts with two free games this week. Puppeteer for the PS3 definitely makes up for the lack of sales, for those that haven't played the game already. It's been somewhat of a cult hit for those that keep up with all the Sony exclusives. It's an absolute must for any platformer fan.
Another free game is Surge Deluxe for the Vita. It's a matching color puzzle game that I never heard of until today, but sometimes those are the best time wasters.
Have a great week, everyone!
