Infamous: Second Son update coming to fix FPS, HUD issues

Sucker Punch will be patching Infamous: Second Son on the PlayStation 4, along with adding addition features, sometime in mid-April.

Brian Fleming, co-founder and producer at Sucker Punch, posts on the European PlayStation Blog and gives more details on all the things that will be coming, but here are the quick bullet points:
  • Fixing the game up by having the "coders and QA team...identify and resolve key bugs."
  • Players can change the time of day once they complete an initial run-through of the game.
  • Players can select whether they want to cap the game at 30 frames per second for those that don't like the unbalanced FPS rate.
  • Potentially other Easter eggs could be added (it is that time of year, after all).
Those that want to cap the game at FPS is wonderful addition to the game. Frame rate wasn't a major problem in the sequel to Infamous, but the original had plenty of unbalanced FPS rates that didn't ruin gameplay, but noticeable enough that it sometimes screwed with collecting blast shards in hard places that didn't require as much rendering.

I can't comment on the frame rate in Infamous: SS as I haven't played the game yet.

On the blog post, SP believes the patches will be out in a few weeks.
