WWE Network launches on PlayStation consoles February

The WWE Network will be available on multiple devices this February in the United States, including both PlayStation consoles.

Joystiq reports that the wrestling network will cost $10 per month, and that subscribers will be able to access both archived and new, montly pay-per-view events. Other special programming will be available as well.

WWE Network will cost $10 a month when it launches next month, with apps planned for both PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Streaming will be in 720p and a subscription will guarantee you access to WWE's monthly pay-per-view events. Wrestlemania Rewind, part of the planned original programming to supplement the older matches, will offer wrestler commentary over famous matches of yesteryear, while Countdown will be an hour-long program ranking top finishers, submissions and other sweet wrasslin' moves.
For dieheard WWE fans, the price of $120 per year for all the pay-per-view events is an absolute steal. It's a great idea for any company to fight pirated feeds of their pay-per-view events that are distributed from offshore locations.

Plus, anything on-demand is money in today's generation. The deal will only be sweeter if fans can instantly watch the latest episodes of Monday Night Raw and other original programming.

The WWE Network will be available on Monday, February 24th, for both PlayStation 3 and 4, immediately after the airing of Raw. Don't have one of those consoles? Here are other devices it will be available on:

  • PC
  • iOS (likely includes Mac, Apple TV)
  • Android
  • Kindle
  • Roku
  • Xbox 360
  • Xbox One (this summer)
  • Various smart TVs (this summer)
