Ubisoft announces new Tetris is headed to 'next-gen platform'

Ubisoft and The Tetris Company will be delivering new Tetris games to the new consoles.

From Game Rant:
Ubisoft has today announced a deal with The Tetris Company that will deliver everyone’s favorite puzzle game to next-gen platform. The partnership couldn’t come at a better time either, as Tetris will be celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
Both The Tetris Company and Ubisoft shared their enthusiasm over a next-gen Tetris game with Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot saying, “We’re very excited to start working with this world-renowned brand, and can’t wait to combine Ubisoft’s expertise and all the capacities of next-gen consoles to create an exciting new Tetris experience for fans.”
That's all the information really known about the new Tetris. While not announced, it's expected to be hitting both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It wouldn't be a surprise to see handheld ports to Vita and Nintendo 3DS.

Tetris last received an update on PlayStation 3 back in January 2011. It received generally favorable reviews. IGN cited some online issues, but overall, reviewers enjoyed the simplicity for the $10 price tag. According to PlayStation LifeStyle, it was a huge improvement over the PSMini released in 2009.
