From Game Rant:
Ubisoft has today announced a deal with The Tetris Company that will deliver everyone’s favorite puzzle game to next-gen platform. The partnership couldn’t come at a better time either, as Tetris will be celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
Both The Tetris Company and Ubisoft shared their enthusiasm over a next-gen Tetris game with Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot saying, “We’re very excited to start working with this world-renowned brand, and can’t wait to combine Ubisoft’s expertise and all the capacities of next-gen consoles to create an exciting new Tetris experience for fans.”That's all the information really known about the new Tetris. While not announced, it's expected to be hitting both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It wouldn't be a surprise to see handheld ports to Vita and Nintendo 3DS.
Tetris last received an update on PlayStation 3 back in January 2011. It received generally favorable reviews. IGN cited some online issues, but overall, reviewers enjoyed the simplicity for the $10 price tag. According to PlayStation LifeStyle, it was a huge improvement over the PSMini released in 2009.
