Publisher Square Enix announced the launch date and collector's edition details today. Escapist Magazine breaks down what's in the special box.
...It includes the game, an exclusive box, an artbook titled The Art of Eorzea: A Realm Reimagined, the FFXIV Seventh Umbral Era movie disc, the soundtrack, an art card set, and a themed security token. Additionally, the collector's edition includes the following in-game items: a fat chocobo mount, a coeurl mount, behemoth barding for the chocobo mount, a wind-up moogle companion, a baby bethmoth companion, and a Helm of Light, which increases earned experience by 20 percent until level 10.The physical collector's edition, which is only available at the Square Enix Online Store, will set players back $79.99. A digital version of the CE, which includes the in-game items only, is available at the PlayStation Store for $59.99.
For those not interested in the extras and want access to the game as soon as possible, the standard edition is just $39.99 and preorders will allow entry into the game beginning April 11th.
According to the PlayStation Blog, players that want to move their account from the PlayStation 3 to the PS4 can do so beginning April 11th, but that will render their PS3 version useless.
After purchase, the monthly subscription fee for FFXIV is $12.99.
